Dear Secret Santa’s,

The Douglas County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association invites you to participate in the 2023 Secret Santa Program!

Our program is the only County program that matches our children in foster care with gifts on their Christmas Wish Lists and has been successful in doing so for over 30 years! This year, we are seeking volunteers to help us make Christmas magical for over 250 children under the supervision ofthe Department of Family and Children Services.

Children come into care because they have experienced abuse or neglect in their homes and need a place to live, clothes, food, medical care, and other essentials. They have experienced a lot of sadness and disappointment, including being separated from their families, but our children, like the children in your family, would like to wake up Christmas morning to find gifts for them under the tree.  We know that our generous community sponsors, including individuals and organizations just like yourself, are willing to open their hearts and make the 2023 Holiday Season Magical for our counties least advantaged.

For us to achieve our goal, we rely on our sponsors to donate new, unwrapped gifts and to spread the word about our needs to help us find others in our community who want to help our children.  Our goal is simple- we ask our children to complete wish lists and then match those lists to a donor.  If donors are unable to sponsor an entire list, we can match them with individual items. If preferred, monetary donations are welcomed, and we will do the shopping for you.

We ask our children to keep their wishes in a specific price range based on their age:

$125 per child aged 0-3, $150 per child aged 4-7, and $175 per child aged 8-11, $200 per child aged 12-15, and $225 per child aged 16 or older. Any gift toward meeting our goals is greatly appreciated. For many children, these are the only gifts they will receive.
